Martial Arts in Manotick.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for ages 3 to adult, right in the village. Every program starts with a free class, and no experience or gear is needed.
Grappling, or striking?
It comes down to one question: do you want the ground game, or stand-up striking? Here is the plain version of each.
The ground game.
Jiu-Jitsu is grappling. You learn to control a partner, work from every position, and finish with leverage and technique instead of size or strength. We teach it to adults, kids and women, and most people who walk in have never trained before.
Explore Adult BJJ →Stand-up striking.
Muay Thai is stand-up striking. You drill punches, kicks, knees and clinch work on pads and bags, and you build real fitness from your first class. No experience needed to start, and sparring is always its own separate class.

Program questions, answered.
Do I need any experience to start?+
No. Most people who start at Gracie Barra Manotick have never trained before. Our classes are beginner-friendly, you move at your own pace, and a coach guides you through the fundamentals from your first day.
Can a whole family train at the same academy?+
Yes, and a lot of our families do. Kids programs run from age 3, adult programs are open from age 13, and Family Boxing on Friday at 6:30 PM is built for parents and children to train side by side. Most families stack a kids class and an adult class on the same evening so it is one trip.
What ages do you teach?+
We welcome ages 3 and up. Our Tiny Champions program is for ages 3 to 5, kids classes run from ages 6 to 13, and adult classes are open to all levels, including complete beginners.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes. You can book a free trial class to meet a coach, see the mats, and get a feel for a class before you decide anything.
Do I need a gi to start?+
No. Comfortable athletic clothes are all you need for your first class. If you keep training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a coach will guide you on when to get a gi. Muay Thai does not use a gi at all.
